Mercedes-AMG to go electric with dedicated 'skateboard' architecture

V8-hungry high-performance brand Mercedes-AMG will mirror its master brand in going all-electric over the next decade – and a dedicated electric-vehicle (EV) architecture is going to allow the brand to do it. Announced overnight, the new 'AMG.EA' architecture will debut in 2025 as a "dedicated performance electric vehicle platform addressing technology- and performance-oriented Mercedes-AMG customers," according to Mercedes-Benz.
