Iconic Australian land speed record car for sale for $550,000

An Australian-built world land speed record contender has come up for sale. The 1997 Aussie Invader III LSR JET uses an engine from an RAAF Mirage jet fighter to take the custom-built race car to 1000km/h from a standstill in around 16 seconds, according to its Carsales ad. The jet car was sold by Lloyds in 2019 as part of the Gosford Classic Car Museum auction, with records indicating a sale price of $455,000 (before the auction premium).
