2022 Rimac C_Two electric hypercar slashes production car quarter-mile record to 8.95 seconds

The 2022 Rimac C­_Two electric hypercar has slashed the production car quarter-mile record, completing the benchmark sprint in just 8.95 seconds – 0.45 seconds quicker than the 1103kW/1600Nm 8.0-litre W16 Bugatti Chiron. It took just 2.42 seconds for the Croatian-built road car to accelerate from 0-100km/h, despite claims from company founder Mate Rimac the motors were only operating at 85 per cent power and launch control had not yet been activated.
