2007-2010 BMW X5 and X6 recalled due to electrical fault

BMW Australia has issued a recall of 16,850 examples of 2007 to 2010 (MY2007-10) E70 X5 and E71 X6 models due to a potential issue with an electric plug. The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says the plug connection from the wiring harness to the blower controller may deteriorate over time, causing a short circuit or overheating. BMW is contacting owners to organise inspection and repair of the defect.
