Audi halts development of internal combustion engines, according to CEO

German automotive manufacturer Audi will no longer develop new internal combustion engines, CEO Marcus Duesmann has confirmed. Speaking to Automobilwoche earlier this week, Mr Duesmann said: "The EU plans for even stricter Euro 7 emissions standards present a significant technical challenge... this is very restrictive for [development of] the combustion engine.
