Cherokee Nation requests Jeep drop namesake from line-up

A spokesperson for the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma has formally requested Jeep drop its namesake from the 4X4 line-up. Speaking to US-based automotive outlet Car and Driver over the weekend, Chuck Hoskin Jr – principal chief of the first nations administration – said: “I’m sure this comes from a place that is well-intended, but it does not honour us by having our name plastered on the side of a car.”
