Tesla filing reveals new Autopilot radar system

Tesla could soon use millimetre-wave radar sensors for autonomous functions, according to a Federal Communication Commission filing uncovered by Electrek.com. While the document is light on details, millimetre wave sensors typically employ high frequency radio waves to detect objects and estimate range, velocity, and angle with a high degree accuracy.
