2015 Mitsubishi ASX, 2016 Outlander recalled for parking brake shaft fault

Mitsubishi Australia has issued a recall for 8847 examples of the 2015 Mitsubishi ASX and 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. According to the recall notice lodged with the Australia Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), faulty anti-rust (fluorine) coating "may allow rust to form on the parking brake shaft", and in turn "the parking brake shaft may become stuck and may not engage."
