Volkswagen Beetle with 1006kW jet turbine listed for sale

A Volkswagen Beetle – powered by a 1006kW jet turbine – has come onto the market in the US. The car retains its original 1.6-litre petrol engine tucked away under the bonnet for the daily commute, which sends a respectable 74kW to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. However – when a 'little' more grunt is needed – the driver can spool up the Beetle’s rear-mounted turbine to 26,000rpm, and launch past the traffic with an extra 1006kW at their disposal.
