Lamborghini to retain V12 powerplant, will introduce hybrid tech

The Lamborghini Aventador's successor will retain its naturally aspirated V12 powerplant, according to the manufacturer’s chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani. The 6.5-litre engine will, however, be paired with a hybrid electric motor. Speaking to Car & Driver earlier this week, Mr Reggiani said "the V12 has been part of the story of Lamborghini since the very beginning".
