You call that a ute? Meet the supercharged Chevrolet Goliath 6x6

Just when you thought the Chevrolet Silverado Goliath 6x6 couldn’t get any crazier, US tuning firm Hennessey has fitted a supercharger to boost the V8 to a mind-boggling 800 horsepower. The custom-built, road-legal six-wheel-drive monster truck costs in excess of $USD400,000 in North America, equivalent to about $AUD600,000 based on today’s exchange rates. Customers start with the ‘regular’ $USD375,000 version and then add a $USD30,000 supercharger kit and some other toys.

Renault and Nissan production delays due to global cyber attack

Renault and Nissan ‘s Sunderland production facility has been the victim of a global cyber attack, causing costly production delays. The global cyber attack began late last week and has so far affected more than 75,000 systems in 100 countries. The attack hits vulnerable Microsoft Windows machines and encrypts the user’s filesystem, taking it ransom. The user is asked to pay a fee of US$300 to have their computer unlocked. While the attack can easily be prevented by updating the operating system, many automated machines and dumb terminals connected to the internet are being infiltrated. A Renault spokesperson told  Autocar, “Groupe Renault confirms it was impacted by the global cyber attack that began late on Friday May 12. Ineos Grenadier gets converted into a camper with Australian-made pop-top

Mere weeks after hitting the road in Australia, this Ineos Grenadier has already had the roof chopped and converted into a pop-top camper. Ineos Grenadier Pop-top camper The Ineos Grenadier four-wheel drive now has a pop-top conversion available , thanks to Australian company Expedition Centre. Based in Sydney, Expedition Centre has been making pop-top conversions for Land Rover Defenders and Toyota LandCruisers since 2009. But now with the Ineos Grenadier hitting the road in Australia, Expedition Centre has quickly turned its attention to the new, old-school four-wheel-drive wagon. An updated 2024 Mazda 3 small car is coming soon to showrooms with improved technology, according to a new overseas report. Japanese website Creative Trend reports the Mazda 3 hatchback and sedan range is slated to receive a moderate upgrade in the northern spring of 2023 (Australia’s autumn, from March to May) – about four years after the current model went on sale. 2015-19 Toyota Prius V recalled

Toyota Australia has recalled the 2015-19 Prius V over concerns about the seatbelt reminder switch. According to the company, improper assembly of the electrical contacts in the seatbelt reminder switch means the driver's belt reminder might not switch off – even when the seatbelt is being used. If the seatbelt reminder doesn't turn off, the flashing warning light and chime could distract the driver. A total of 1037 cars are included in the recall – a VIN list is attached here.
