Lexus celebrates 30 years in Australia

Toyota’s luxury vehicle division Lexus has celebrated 30 years in Australia after bringing its first cars to local showrooms in May 1990. Over its 30 year tenure in Australia, Lexus has sold a total of 142,931 new cars (as of April 2020) – with the Japanese brand setting its annual sales record of 9612 vehicles last year. Lexus sales in Australia were slow to gain momentum, with the brand taking 18 years of local operation to reach 50,000 new cars sold.
