Koenigsegg Gemera coming to Australia, only five left

Koenigsegg Australia has today confirmed that its recently-debuted Gemera will be coming to Australia, and that half of them have already been snatched up. Of the 300 to be built, Australia was able to secure 10 examples of the US$1.7 million (AU$2.56 million) plug-in hybrid “mega-GT” and, as of this afternoon, five have already been spoken for. “At this stage there are five sold, five remaining,” Shaun Baker, general manager of Koenigsegg Australia, told CarAdvice.

Europe’s Toyota Yaris Cross has received a mid-life update with more power, a revised look and new technology. Plans for the Australian version are yet to be announced. Renault and Nissan production delays due to global cyber attack

Renault and Nissan ‘s Sunderland production facility has been the victim of a global cyber attack, causing costly production delays. The global cyber attack began late last week and has so far affected more than 75,000 systems in 100 countries. The attack hits vulnerable Microsoft Windows machines and encrypts the user’s filesystem, taking it ransom. The user is asked to pay a fee of US$300 to have their computer unlocked. While the attack can easily be prevented by updating the operating system, many automated machines and dumb terminals connected to the internet are being infiltrated. A Renault spokesperson told  Autocar, “Groupe Renault confirms it was impacted by the global cyber attack that began late on Friday May 12. Mere weeks after hitting the road in Australia, this Ineos Grenadier has already had the roof chopped and converted into a pop-top camper. The Mazda 3 small car is slated to receive an upgraded interior with a larger infotainment screen in the coming months, according to a new report. The current Mazda 3 pictured throughout. An updated 2024 Mazda 3 small car is coming soon to showrooms with improved technology, according to a new overseas report. 2015-19 Toyota Prius V recalled

Toyota Australia has recalled the 2015-19 Prius V over concerns about the seatbelt reminder switch. According to the company, improper assembly of the electrical contacts in the seatbelt reminder switch means the driver's belt reminder might not switch off – even when the seatbelt is being used. If the seatbelt reminder doesn't turn off, the flashing warning light and chime could distract the driver. A total of 1037 cars are included in the recall – a VIN list is attached here.
