Ford joins coronavirus fight, prepares to make medical equipment and masks

US car giant Ford has joined its rival General Motors in answering the call to arms to battle the outbreak of the coronavirus across North America. Ford will work with GE Healthcare to expand production of a simplified version of the company’s existing ventilator design to support patients with respiratory failure or who have difficulty breathing.
