2012-2013 Renault Trafic II recalled over possible steering wheel failure

Renault Australia has issued a recall of 409 of its model-year 2012 and 2013 Trafic II vans affected by a faulty steering component. Affected vehicles were sold between 24 September 2012 to 4 November 2012, 10 December 2012 to 20 January 2013, 12 April 2013 to 26 May 2013 and 6 November 2013 to 15 December 2013. Lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the defect relates to the steering wheel’s hub, which can crack or break under excessive loads.
