2015-16 Volkswagen Tiguan, Passat CC recalled

Volkswagen Australia has recalled the 2015-16 Tiguan and 2015 Passat CC, over concerns about the condenser in their airbag control unit. According to the company, there's a risk the cars have a faulty airbag condenser. If a faulty condenser is fitted the airbag could deactivate, or the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners could inadvertently fire, as the car interprets the faulty part as a signal there's been a crash. Both these cases increase the risk of injury or accident.
