2021 Volkswagen Touareg R coming with PHEV power

Volkswagen is working on an even hotter version of its Touareg luxury SUV, with the company's marketing boss confirming it will feature a plug-in hybrid system. Speaking with media at the global reveal of the eighth-generation Golf hatchback, Jürgen Stackmann said the Touareg will be "the first R model to go plug-in hybrid" – as reported by the UK's Autocar. In that one statement, Stackmann confirmed both a Touareg R and the style of powertrain.

Melbourne City Council has announced plans to allow the public to suggest names for new roads and locations in the city. Names proposed for roads must meet the 1998 Geographic Place Names Act to ensure they are not duplicated or offensive, and support the local community interests – and they can can be submitted by community members, landholders and developers. Volkswagen Golf global launch delayed until late February 2020

Jürgen Stackmann, head of the Volkswgen brand, has confirmed to Automotive News Europe the new Golf will have its global launch on the week beginning February 24, 2019.
