Peugeot rules out Toyota HiLux ute tie-up

Peugeot has ruled out a possible tie-up with the Toyota Hilux to deliver a ute – but it is about to launch a joint venture pick-up built by China’s ChangAn for Latin America and the Middle East. Peugeot and Toyota currently share the Partner van which is rebadged as the Toyota Proace in Europe. The French and Japanese car giants have jointly developed two generations of the Citroen C1, Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo small cars since 2005, however that partnership is due to end in 2021.
