Ford to close UK engine plant in 2020

Ford will close its Bridgend engine factory in Wales as part of a wider restructuring of its European business. The factory currently makes various three- and four-cylinder engines, including the Sigma family and the 1.5-litre EcoBoost used in the Fiesta ST and Focus range. As a holdover from Ford's ownership of Jaguar, there's also a factory within a factory making the 5.0-litre V8 used by Jaguar Land Rover.
