Ford patents all-wheel drive hybrid V8 system

Ford appears to be preparing a hybrid, all-wheel drive system built around a V8 engine, hinting at what could be to come for the legendary Mustang nameplate. The patent was actually filed in 2017, but the US Patent and Trademark Office published it this week. The filing was initially reported by AutoGuide in the USA. With a longitudinally-mounted engine sending power to the rear wheels, the system appears more sport-oriented than some of the other hybrid systems becoming more prevalent.
