Volkswagen Transporter, Caddy go all electric with the help of ABT

The Volkswagen e-Transporter and Volkswagen e-Caddy have made their debuts alongside the flashier ID Buzz Cargo concept at the 2018 Hannover commercial vehicle show. Both the electric Transporter and Caddy were designed in conjunction with ABT, a tuner specialising in vehicles from the sprawling Volkswagen Group portfolio. This time lowered springs, big alloy wheels, and more aggressive aero packages are conspicuous by their absence.

A US high school teacher is facing legal action – and $US4000 ($AU6000) in costs – after being accused of renting a turbocharged Toyota Supra performance coupe from a car-sharing service and used the vehicle in a racing competition without the owner’s knowledge. The 2021 McLaren Artura will be unveiled on 17 February 2021, an invite sent to some of the brand's Chinese customers has confirmed. Melbourne City Council has announced plans to allow the public to suggest names for new roads and locations in the city. Names proposed for roads must meet the 1998 Geographic Place Names Act to ensure they are not duplicated or offensive, and support the local community interests – and they can can be submitted by community members, landholders and developers. The draft policy will defer naming proposals back to the community, with a preference for “Aboriginal language names and the names of women who have contributed to Melbourne’s historical development.” According to the Council, this is intended to “correct the imbalance” of naming representation in Melbourne – which in the past 20 years has seen 50 new roads named after men, 23 named after women, and six the use local Aboriginal language. Volkswagen Golf global launch delayed until late February 2020

Jürgen Stackmann, head of the Volkswgen brand, has confirmed to Automotive News Europe the new Golf will have its global launch on the week beginning February 24, 2019.
