Central to the appeal of the Audi RS4 Avant is the fact it offers sports car performance with a usable, practical boot. Just how much of sports car is it compared to, say, a Porsche 911 GTS though? The team at CarWow endeavoured to find out. With twin-turbo, six-cylinder engines (and Volkswagen Group backing) the RS4 and 911 have a little bit in common. They also both make 331kW of power, although the Audi channels it to all four wheels. Which is quicker? We won't spoil the result.

A US high school teacher is facing legal action – and $US4000 ($AU6000) in costs – after being accused of renting a turbocharged Toyota Supra performance coupe from a car-sharing service and used the vehicle in a racing competition without the owner’s knowledge. The high-school teacher from Indiana – and his team of female mechanic students – were on their way to compete in the 2023 U.S. Mile land-speed trials in Texas last month. The girls and their teacher had built a high-performance Chevrolet S10 pick-up for the ‘Texas Mile’ – a competition which sees vehicles try to achieve the highest possible speed from a standing start within one-mile (1.6km) on a runway. The 2021 McLaren Artura will be unveiled on 17 February 2021, an invite sent to some of the brand's Chinese customers has confirmed. Have you ever dreamed of living in Streety McStreetface Street, Warnieville? Here’s your chance. Melbourne City Council has announced plans to allow the public to suggest names for new roads and locations in the city. Names proposed for roads must meet the 1998 Geographic Place Names Act to ensure they are not duplicated or offensive, and support the local community interests – and they can can be submitted by community members, landholders and developers. The draft policy will defer naming proposals back to the community, with a preference for “Aboriginal language names and the names of women who have contributed to Melbourne’s historical development.” According to the Council, this is intended to “correct the imbalance” of naming representation in Melbourne – which in the past 20 years has seen 50 new roads named after men, 23 named after women, and six the use local Aboriginal language. The current generation Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pick-up from the US – powered by a 6.6-litre V8 turbo diesel with an epic output of 332kW/1234Nm and a 5890kg towing capacity – has almost sold out in Australia. Volkswagen Golf global launch delayed until late February 2020

Jürgen Stackmann, head of the Volkswgen brand, has confirmed to Automotive News Europe the new Golf will have its global launch on the week beginning February 24, 2019.
