2019 BMW i3 gains bigger 42.2kWh battery

The BMW i3 has been updated with an improved battery pack, which is now rated at 120Ah of capacity and 42.2kWh of gross energy storage. This is the second battery pack upgrade for the i3: in 2016 the original 60Ah/22.6kWh unit was replaced by a 90Ah/33kWh pack. BMW claims the new 120Ah battery gives the standard i3 a range of between 285 and 310 kilometres using the WLTP standard, up from the 235 to 255km rating of the 90Ah car.
